One of the ways Montessori children learn from an early age how much all humans have in common is through the study of the basic physical needs for food, shelter, clothing, and transportation, and how they are met depending on the environment.

This is not just an academic study, but the children are involved with meeting their own of these needs, creating and serving food, caring for the environment, caring their own shoes and clothing, and sometimes even their own vehicles. Continue reading
